Joan Greening is an award winning playwright. She created ITV situation comedies including ‘The Cabbage Patch’ and ‘Troubles and Strife’. Her theatre plays are performed nationally and internationally. Her award-winning comedy ‘Madame Blavatsky Lives’ had an extensive tour including performances in Australia and has won an award at The Havering Drama Festival. A historical play ‘Mistresses’ had a national tour and another comedy ‘The Book Club of Little Witterington’ was performed in Washington DC and won Best Comedy at the Maidenhead Festival.
Joan has premiered many new plays at the Edinburgh Festival over the past few years. 'The Allergic Audience' was a tremendous hit and her play 'The Rape of Artemisia Gentileschi', was extremely well received. The Amours of Lillie Langtry and had great reviews. This was followed by Rossetti’s Women, Three Women and Shakespeare’s Will and A Montage of Monet. Joan is working on a new show for Edinburgh 2027.
Joan has three plays available to view online at Scenesaver - At Home with the Brontes, Scammed and Charlotte Snares the Suitor (which was nominated for an OnCom Award).
Most recently Branwell: the Bronte Brother has just been published.
