One Act Tragi-Comedy

Madame du Barry (famous mistress of Louis XV) and Grace Dalrymple Elliott (mistress of the Prince of Wales - the future George IV) find themselves in the same prison cell during the French Revolution. Despite the bleak surroundings they find moments of humour but eventually despair descends and one of them has to die.

REVIEW

This is a great show - intelligent, funny, touching and full of interesting historical details. Julia Rufey's Grace is so well played - showing us a woman hardened by experience but remembering the good old days. Julia Munrow depicts Madame du Barry with skill; vulnerable and naive, unable to face the harsh reality of her imprisonment. A real treat and well worth seeing - the best Edinburgh show I've seen this year.
